Rosie refuses ‘The Price is Right’ offer

Despite Rosie O’Donnell’s promise to fans to host ‘The Price is Right” if offered; she now says she won’t do it. Rosie was reportedly was given a “substantial” offer by CBS to host the show but she refused the position after they refused to let her tape several shows a day in Hollywood so she could continue living on New York.

O’Donnell told fans: “Here’s the thing. I don’t really need a job. I’m in a weird position. I don’t need the money. I know you’re not allowed to talk about money in America, but I’m just saying I don’t. So to get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them across the country so that I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence job just doesn’t seem fair.”

O’Donnell goes on to say that she and her family love their home, community and schools and that had a part to play in her refusal to take Bob Barker's place. “If they were able to do it in New York it would be a different story. But it looks like it ain’t gonna happen,” O’Donnell says.

O’Donnell, wife Kelly, sons Parker and Blake, and daughters Chelsea and Vivi, live outside New York City.

Last week O’Donnell told fans if she was offered the position she would take it, but admitted later: “I don’t know if it’s gonna work out…. I just think it’s apart of America nostalgia, and it’s what America needs right now. I would be good for me, but I don’t know if it’s right for them.”
