The Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies at the St. Athanasius and St. Cyril Coptic Orthodox Theological School offers a general introduction to Orthodox religion and theology. Our students study various theological topics such as introductory graduate level study of Scripture Church History, Dogmatics, Patristics and Canon law. This program is perfect for prospective students, lay persons, or simply anyone seeking to widen their knowledge of religious and theological studies. However our non-accredited certificate does not provide educational nor pastoral requirements needed for priestly ordination.

But our Certificate of Orthodox Theological Studies is unique. It is first degree in theology, from which a student could advance to a Masters of Divinity degree or PhD degree in theology.

The program is designed to be completed within two years. Students can take classes online or at our Claremont, California campus located outside of Los Angeles.
