Gwyneth Paltrow seems to be a one woman wonder; already an author, business entrepreneur and actress, she can now add fashion designer to her already overflowing resume. Goop, Gwyneth’s personal business she’s CEO of is a lifestyle brand that carries everything from skincare and sneakers to city guides and book suggestions; now her new fashion line, Goop Label Edition 1 has been made available.
"I wanted to create product that is incredibly high quality and delivered at a great value—I think there's a huge white space in the market for luxurious ready-to-wear at a direct-to-consumer price," said Paltrow. While still committed to the weekly newsletter from which Goop based, they’ve broadly expanded their repertoire from their original trendy wine-bar suggestions, and with the new Goop line being produced at the same factories as leading designer brands, Paltrow may just be able to provide the same high quality seen in high fashion lines at a fraction of the price.
The everyday wear of Goop’s fashion label are actually inspired by designs held in Paltrow’s very own closet- items that over the years for whatever reason she’s just never been able to replace and serve as the essential, luxurious basics that are timeless in their appeal. Each month, Goop will reveal “five elevated basics” to fit the fashion of the season and will be first come, first serve until they sell out.
The September collection showcases a chic Elise Chambray Button down, Pattner Peak Lapel Blazer, Eliza Wide Leg Culotte and Classic G. Tote, all of which are cute yet functional, and provide a striking figure for the office and everyday wear. If these designs are anything to go by, Paltrow’s classic designs could be ones we keep around, and just won’t be able to replace.
