Roger Federer began his pursuit of a fifth straight Wimbledon title with an easy 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Russian Teimuraz Gabashvili on a Monday.
Federer, trying to equal Bjorn Borg’s five straight Wimbledon titles at the All England Club, had to withstand a nearly three hour rain delay before his match began but then took just an hour and a half to dispose of Gabashvili who was making his Wimbledon debut.
