Britney Spears joins “True Colors” concert tour

Britney Spears is planning to join the “True Colors” concert tour on June 30. She will be touring with Cyndi Lauper, Erasure, Debbie Harry, The Dresden Dolls, The MisShapes with special guest Jeffree Star, and host Margaret Cho starting at the Greek Theater in Los Angles.

The “True Colors” tour was created by Cyndi Lauper to help raise money for organizations relating to gays, lesbians, and bisexuals. The pop singer scheduled to select two male backup dancers to perform with her but she did not show up. Spears, 25, sent two female backup dancers to record the men dancing so she could select two later.

At the first tryout 150 men showed up and danced to one of her new songs that has not been released yet.

"It was dope. It reminded me of that one song you hear at 1:50 a.m., when they call last call at a club, and it's the hottest, nastiest song you've ever heard in your life and you've just got to put your drink down and dance to it. You've got no choice. Your body is insisting on it," said dancer Sam Pete.

Spears had hoped to release a new album at the end of this year but the release has been pushed back to 2008. “I put on her on hiatus,” said her rep Leslie Sloane. “Brit’s album won’t be out until 2008.”
