Paris Hilton released from jail

Paris Hilton was released from jail about 15 minutes past midnight after spending 23 days in confinement. As the hotel heiress made her way to her parents waiting SUV she hugged a few deputies and shook a few hands. Sources from law enforcement say Hilton lost almost 10 pounds during her stay in jail. They also say they are happy to see her leave Lynwood jail so things can get back to normal.

As the 26-year-old socialite got to the SUV she hugged her mom through the window. After she got in the car she rolled down the window and waved saying: “I’m great…. Thank you for your support.”

The SUV pulled away and the paparazzi followed. They were stopped at a red light when they were swarmed by photographers.

Paris was sentenced to 45 days in jail for driving with a suspended license. She was sent to Lynwood jail where she stayed 3 days and was then released for undisclosed medical problems. She was put on house arrest to serve the rest of her time. The judge called Hilton back to court and sent her to Twin Towers jail where she stayed in the medical ward. She was then transferred back to Lynwood and served the rest of her sentence.

Hilton’s attitude about the situation seemed to change. She told Ryan Seacrest in a phone interview that jail had made her a different person and much more grateful for life’s little luxuries.

“In a way, I’m really glad this happened, because it changed my life forever,” Hilton told Seacrest during her stay in jail.
