Englishman Tom Henman gave the Wimbledon crowd all they could ask for on Tuesday after completing a five set victory over Spaniard Carlos Moya 6-3, 1-6, 5-7, 6-2, 13-11 and earning a second round birth at the All England Club.
Ina match that was halted on Monday evening due to darkness Henman and Moya returned to Centre Court on Tuesday to complete their epic battle. The two were tied at 5-5 in the fifth set when play resumed and were tied at 11-11 when Henman saved to breakpoints to take a 12-11 advantage. Moya battled back from a 15-40 deficit in the next game to get even up at deuce but Henman forced an error and then won when Moya sent a second serve long.
Henman is playing in his 14th Wimbledon and while he has never won the Grand Slam event, he has been to the semi-finals on four occasions.
