Tom Cruise insists Scientology will not have any effect in German movie

Tom Cruise has responded to the Defense Ministry’s announcement that he is banned from shooting a film at any German military sites because of his beliefs in Scientology. Cruise insisted that Scientology will not have an affect on his role in the movie. He plays Colonel Claus von Stauffenburg who plotted to kill Adolf Hitler. Stauffenburg planted a bomb in Hitler’s brief case but failed to kill him. The bomb only wounded Hilter and Stauffenburg was killed by a firing squad the next morning.

The Defense Ministry does not acknowledge The Church of Scientology as a real church and views it as a “money-making cult.” Cruise is desperate to shoot the movie in     Germany where Stauffenburg lived.

Paula Wagner, Cruise’s producing partner, said “Aside from his obvious admiration of the man he is portraying, Mr. Cruise’s personal beliefs have absolutely no bearing on the movie’s plot, themes or content. And event though we could shoot the movie anywhere in the world, we believe Germany is the only place we can truly do the story justice.”
