Toyota Announces Recall of Prius, Sites Brake Problems

Toyota has announced a recall of nearly 450,000 hybrid vehicles including their popular Prius model after acknowledging brake problems.

The announcement, made by Toyota president Akio Toyoda, comes on the heels of a massive eight million vehicle recall issued by Toyota to fix problems with accelerators and floormats in Toyota and Lexus cars.

Speaking at a news conference in Tokyo Toyoda stated “We will do everything in our power to regain the confidence of our customers.” Toyoda is said to be considering traveling to the United States to explain the details of the latest recalls.
