The Kristan Cole Team with Keller Williams of Alaska group with office in Wasilla and Anchorage announces the winners of their “Follow your Dreams” scholarship for year 2018. The winners are Emali Cordell and Jib Pikulthong.
Emali Cordell won $1,500 scholarship and was recognized on May 8th at an award ceremony. She is a courageous girl who has been homeless since she was 14 years old. Life for her was not easy since kid but despite all her struggles, she never stops dreaming and instead, she is using her circumstances to inspire other people. Her essay was well written and came with great references.
Jib Pikulthong on the other hand was awarded $1,000 worth of scholarship at an award ceremony on May 1st. Jib is a senior in Palmer High School. Jib has always been active and competitive. She loves sports, but when she was 8 years old, her life took a big turn when he broke her left leg. During this miserable time, she met a physical therapist who helped her not just physically but also boosted her morale and inspired her until she realizes she wants to become like her. During her senior year, she decided to pursue fitness path which lead her to take Physiology of Exercise at Mat-su Career Technical High School. She dreams of taking bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine to fulfill her love for anatomy.
Kristan Cole organized the scholarship contest ten years ago and awards the scholarships annually. The scholarships are opened to any graduating senior. Each candidate submits an Essay. The basis of the scholarship will be awarded on the content of the essay, not form, and not the student’s GPA. The idea of this scholarship is to show teamwork and leadership skills with the desire for the additional education after high school.
The Kristan Cole Real Estate Network awards approximately $2,500 in scholarships annually to graduating seniors from various high schools. Recipients of the Kristan Cole Follow Your Dreams Scholarship have shown passion, heart, and a vision to follow their own dreams for the future while serving others.
