President and First Lady Call for Efforts to Fight Obesity in Children

Michelle Obama introduced a national effort to combat childhood obesity at a news conference today.

"We're determined to take on one of the most serious threats -- and that's the epidemic of childhood obesity today," said the First Lady.

The initiative is called the “Let’s Move” campaign and focuses on what families, communities and the public and private sectors can do to help fight childhood obesity. The goal of the campaign is to reduce childhood obesity within a generation.
