After weeks of speculation and rumors the Spice Girls are expected to make an announcement regarding their reunion tour on Wednesday. The all-girl band sold nearly 55 million albums before they split up when Geri Halliwell, “Ginger Spice,” left the group in 1998. The other four members pursued solo careers.
“The Spice Girls are set to make an official announcement to the world regarding future plans on Thursday 28th June," the band's management said.
"No further information can be given at this time but given the band's unique history, you can be sure to expect the unexpected,” their manager, Simon Fuller, said.
The Spice Girls are expected to make millions of pounds from the reunion tour. They are also recording a new album and TV documentary to go along with the tour.
The Spice Girl reunion is met with mixed feelings. Although interest in the reunion is considerably high there is also a lot of criticism.
"So why have a reunion? Maybe it really is for the fans. Or perhaps it's because Sporty, Scary, Posh, Ginger and Baby need each other more than we need them,” said the Dailey Mirror tabloid.
