Drug Rehabilitation does not come in “One Size Fits All”

Anyone who has ever tried on an article of clothing marked “one size fits all” will immediately admit that, except for a very few extremely lucky individuals, that phrase is extremely misleading. Either the garment is going to be pretty much stretched to its limit, or it will have the configuration of a large sack, tent, or other similar item (both on the hanger and on the wearer).

The same is true for drug abuse programs. There is no one perfect program for everyone who suffers from drug addiction. No two people are alike; therefore, they are not going to fit into a set pattern for drug rehabilitation.

One person seeking drug rehabilitation may need to enter an inpatient facility first, and then later move on to an outpatient program. Another may be able to start and finish on an outpatient basis. Still another may be adamant that the program be conducted in such a manner that he or she does not feel as though they are being “preached at”, while the next person actively seeks out a faith-based program.

One person may be able to reach an initial goal in a relatively short period of time. (Bear in mind that drug rehabilitation is usually an ongoing process, requiring a number of steps or goals over a much extended period of time.) Still another may require several months or even a full year to accomplish the first few steps.

Drug rehab centers in Michigan realize this, and as such, they seek to provide programs which can be adapted to individual needs. Reputable drug rehab centers will not expect everyone to complete a phase or program at the same time; rather, they will focus on personal achievements.
