Two-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams had to overcome a slow start on Wednesday but rallied to beat Australian Alicia Molik 7-6(4), 6-3 to move on to the third round at the All England Club.
Williams was facing a 4-2 deficit in the first set tie-breaker but Molik committed four straight errors and then Serena served out with a 121 mph ace to take the set. The second set proved to be a little easier for Serena as she now advances to the third round.
Serena Williams had a total of ten aces in the match compared to just three from Molik and had 35 winners while Molik finished with 14.
