Andy Roddick advanced to the third round of Wimbledon on Wednesday after a 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3) straight set victory over Thailand’s Danai Udomchoke. Roddick was simply overpowering on the grass court, firing 15 aces compared to just one by Udomchoke.
Playing on Centre Court at the All England Club Roddick had little trouble in the first two sets as he needed just one break in each frame to get past his opponent. Roddick was up a break in the third set as well but Udomchoke forced the set to a tie-breaker but couldn’t overcome the third seed.
Udomchoke converted just one of nine break point opportunities while Roddick finshed with three breaks in the second round victory.
