On June 5, 2019, beauty giant Sephora is going to close more than 400 stores in the morning for company wide inclusion workshops for its employees, according to a statement posted to the company’s website.
The closure of 400+ stores will include some 16,000 employees and the training courses and inclusion workshops are designed to help educate and train employees about Sephora’s brand values.
The closures are not just for retail stores with the company-wide training also including Sephora’s distribution centers and corporate offices.
Sephora said in a statement that it "believes in championing all beauty," and "building a community where diversity is expected.”
The values-training comes at a time where consumers are hyper-sensitive to discrimination that happens while shopping, dining out, and even using ride-sharing apps.
