Northwest Physicians Network (NPN) has returned from Haiti. 15 physicians nurses and logistical support staff were welcomed home at SeaTac Airport on Saturday, February 6. The group left for Haiti on January 29. Upon their arrival they set up a five room clinic in the town of Plain du Nord. The small town is currently supporting double its normal population resulting from the influx of refugees that arrive at its doorsteps on a daily basis. The NPN crew began their days at 6:00 am every morning to hundreds of people waiting outside the doors of the clinic. Physicians performed surgeries and treated hundreds of patients with paralysis, infected wounds, continued worms, malaria and general poor health from 8:00 am to close.
