Announcing the ACO/AAU Junior World Championships of Cornhole: A Youth Sporting Extravaganza!

The Owensboro Convention Center is gearing up to host the ACO/AAU Junior World Championships of Cornhole on July 19 and 20, 2024, welcoming young cornhole enthusiasts for an unprecedented event. This collaboration between the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) signifies a monumental moment in youth cornhole competition.

With a legacy of over a century, the AAU is renowned for nurturing champions across various sports. Now, it extends its dedication to promoting amateur sports and physical fitness by organizing the ACO/AAU Junior World Championships of Cornhole for youth athletes. The AAU's ethos of "Sports For All, Forever" resonates deeply, boasting nearly 800,000 members and 150,000 volunteers across 50+ sports programs and 55 U.S. districts.

Established in 2005, the ACO serves as the authoritative body for the sport of cornhole, providing official cornhole rules, sanctioned products, global rankings, the ACO PRO Tour, and a plethora of cornhole events. The ACO's mission revolves around elevating awareness and competition in the sport by regulating rules and regulations, hosting tournaments, and fostering a vibrant community of players, both recreational and professional.

Junior Cornhole Age Divisions:

  • 10 U = 8, 9 & 10 year olds
  • 12 U = 11 & 12 year olds
  • 14 U = 13 & 14 year olds
  • 16 U = 15 & 16 year olds
  • 18 U = 17 & 18 year olds

Both boys and girls will compete in the same age divisions, with a maximum of 64 players per division. While players cannot compete in a lower age division, playing up is permitted.

Tournaments & Entry Fees:

  • Junior Cornhole Singles
  • Junior Cornhole Doubles
  • Junior Cornhole Quads (4 per team)

Entry Fee:

  • $50 for AAU Members
  • $75 for Non-AAU Members (includes 1-year AAU membership)

Event Schedule:

Friday, July 19, 2024

  • 9am: Doubles Pools (Round Robin - Singles Switcholio)
  • 1pm: Doubles Tier 1 and Tier 2
  • 6pm: Quads

Saturday, July 20, 2024

  • 9am: Singles (Round Robin - Singles Switcholio)
  • 6pm: Fun Challenge (to be Announced)
