Introducing the ACO/AAU Junior World Championships of Cornhole: A Spectacular Youth Sports Event! Owensboro, KY

Get ready for an exhilarating event as the Owensboro Convention Center hosts the ACO/AAU Junior World Championships of Cornhole on July 19 and 20, 2024. This historic collaboration between the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) marks a significant milestone in youth cornhole competitions.

The AAU Legacy

With over a century of experience, the AAU is celebrated for developing champions in numerous sports. By organizing the ACO/AAU Junior World Championships of Cornhole, the AAU continues its mission to promote amateur sports and physical fitness. Embracing the ethos of "Sports For All, Forever," the AAU proudly supports nearly 800,000 members and 150,000 volunteers across 50+ sports programs in 55 U.S. districts.

The ACO Mission

Founded in 2005, the ACO is the leading authority in cornhole, offering official rules, sanctioned products, global rankings, the ACO PRO Tour, and a variety of events. The ACO's mission is to enhance the sport's awareness and competition through standardized rules, organized tournaments, and a vibrant community of both recreational and professional players.

Junior Cornhole Age Divisions

  • 10U: 8, 9 & 10 year olds
  • 12U: 11 & 12 year olds
  • 14U: 13 & 14 year olds
  • 16U: 15 & 16 year olds
  • 18U: 17 & 18 year olds

Both boys and girls will compete within these divisions, with a maximum of 64 players per division. While players cannot compete in a younger age group, they are allowed to compete in older divisions.

Tournaments & Entry Fees

  • Junior Cornhole Singles
  • Junior Cornhole Doubles
  • Junior Cornhole Quads (4 per team)

Entry Fee:

  • $50 for AAU Members
  • $75 for Non-AAU Members (includes a 1-year AAU membership)

Event Schedule

Friday, July 19, 2024

  • 9 AM: Doubles Pools (Round Robin - Singles Switcholio)
  • 1 PM: Doubles Tier 1 and Tier 2
  • 6 PM: Quads

Saturday, July 20, 2024

  • 9 AM: Singles (Round Robin - Singles Switcholio)
  • 6 PM: Fun Challenge (to be announced)
