2007 NBA Draft: Greg Oden Goes to Portland Trail Blazers
The wait is over and Portland made it official as they used their number one draft pick to select Ohio State’s Greg Oden.
Ever since Oden and fellow freshman phenom Kevin Durant declared for the Draft debate raged over who would become the top pick. In the end the Trail Blazers opted for the physical presence of Oden. At 7-foot 245 pounds the former Buckeye will be seen as a legitimate presence in the middle.
Many feel that Oden is ready to take on the physical play of the NBA while Durant would have some maturing to do before he would make an impact in the league.
