Iowa Presidential Polls for 2008 Election

Iowa is the site for the nation's first caucus to nominate the candidates for the 2008 general election. The importance of doing well in Iowa is all the candidates need to vault themselves forward into the rest of the primary calendar.

Current polls in Iowa show John Edwards in the lead for the Democrats and Mitt Romney in the lead for the Republicans. But both candidates are in third place in the general election. Mitt Romney is fourth when you count Fred Thompson.

Iowa's importance will be tested in this election to see if they have the ability to vault a third and a fourth place candidate into the White House.
