Former Met Keith Hernandez is now coaching Daniel Murphy, the current first baseman for the New York Mets. 25-year old Murphy made 10 errors in the last 101 games, so general manager Omar Minaya has decided to bring in Hernandez for his coaching ability. 56-year old Keith Hernandez, who is now a professional sports broadcaster, is a former first baseman for the Mets. He is a 2-time World Series champion, a 2-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and a 5-time All-Star. He also has 11 Gold Glove Awards to his name. Hernandez intends to speak with Mets manager Jerry Manuel regarding this coaching opportunity and will probably work with Murphy during spring training.
