Jesper Parnevik May Retire Due to Injury

Swedish professional golfer Jesper Parnevik said on Wednesday that he will probably retire from golf because of a broken vertebra in his lower back. Last week, back problems required Parnevik to withdraw from the Northern Trust Open, and he says that an operation that will risk his career now seems inevitable. He plans to visit a physiotherapist next week in an attempt to save his career, but he says that he will "have to hope for a miracle if there's going to be any more competitive golf." Parnevik is a 5-time winner of the PGA Tour and a 4-time winner of the European Tour.
