John McCain Not Overly Worried About Drop In Polls

John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, said on June 25, 2007 that he was not too worried about the polls that show him slipping. The support has slipped down single digit. McCain contends that his campaign going through the usual ups and downs that every campaign faces. He believes that everything will be fine by fall.

McCain is aware that this support for the Iraq war has hurt his campaign in the country. However, in South Carolina it has no effect on his candidacy. But, McCain’s support for the bipartisan immigration bill has affected his presidential bid in South Carolina.

South Carolina will hold the GOP primary on February 2, 2008.

McCain was campaigning and raising money in South Carolina. He has managed to get endorsement from Greenville Mayor Knox White.

In a state poll that was conducted recently shows that McCain just has the support of 7 percent while a Iowa poll shows that support for McCain has slipped down to single digit. However, McCain contends that the polls were incorrect as with just the veterans he has a lot more support.

In April, McCain revamped his campaign operations after he raised $12.5 million from January to end of March. He was third among the Republican candidates, behind Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. It is not known whether the revamping and overhauling of his campaign operations resulted in McCain raising more money. However, there is a possibility of McCain making adjustments in his campaign staff.

McCain believes that his campaign will have enough money to launch a winning campaign when the need arises.
