Ron Paul had a busy weekend in Iowa despite being left out of a forum held by Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance due to what they called a lack of campaign organization in the state.
As it turned out Ron Paul put together his own campaign rally on Saturday and drew nearly identical numbers to the more formal forum that turned him away.
While Paul didn’t harp on being neglected by the multi-candidate forum held in Des Moines he did address several of the issues that has made him one of the most talked about GOP candidates running for election.
Addressing a crowd of more than 1,000 Ron Paul said “We're here to talk about life and liberty, and quite frankly they are inseparable.”
Paul has separated himself from other republican candidates with his stance on the U.S. involvement in Iraq and his interpretation of constitutional rights.
The Texas congressman was cheered loudly when he called for an end t income tax, the Federal Reserve and the IRS as well as when he called for the withdrawal of American troops in Iraq saying “The policy of nonintervention is the policy of the founding fathers, Republicans would do well if they changed their position in this regard.”
