A Virtual Yoga Conference? Is Online Yoga Even Possible?
YogaHub is proud to announce its 1st Virtual World Yoga Conference, scheduled to take place from February 19th to 21st, 2010. This innovative, first-of-its-kind conference will be geared toward yoga, health, and happiness.
At first glance, the words “virtual” and “yoga” don’t appear to complement each other. How can you participate in yoga training in a virtual setting? Don’t you have to be physically present at a yoga conference to get the full benefits?
“Not necessarily,” says YogaHub’s founder Christina SouzaMa, who came up with the innovative concept of holding a virtual yoga conference six years ago. “We live in a high-tech virtual age, where we can communicate with one another in seconds. But we also live in times of great turmoil – people have busy and stressful lives, with cash flow decreasing and bills increasing. So the last thing anyone wants to do is spend money to attend a live conference”.
However, Christina – a passionate yoga enthusiast – has always believed that the impossible is possible. “I’ve always wanted to share all that I was learning in my yoga training and areas of wellness modalities with as many people as possible. That’s how I came up with a virtual yoga conference, which will give us the ability to interact with thousands – if not millions – of people and spread the word about the benefits of yoga and other health and wellness practices”.
But what is a virtual conference exactly? And how can you learn and practice yoga online? Segovia Smith, YogaHub’s high-tech visionary, explains that a virtual conference enables individuals to participate in workshops and sessions without having to worry about travel costs or leave the comfort of their own homes. “It’s an ideal opportunity for like-minded people to share their knowledge and expertise of yoga and other health modalities online”, says Segovia. “Participating in an event where travel, hotel, food, and other expenses usually associated with a conference are non-existent, makes this yoga conference easy to afford and available to all”.
So how is that possible? “We have kept this first one as simple and accessible as possible. As long as you have a phone or a computer, you’ll be able to participate in this health conference”, Christina explains. “Whichever option you choose, we guarantee that you’ll be thoroughly engaged in the learning experience, interacting in each session far more than any other distance learning events you’ve ever participated in before. So you can learn yoga online even if you can’t be physically present. Some people tend to think of yoga as a physical workout only. They forget that yoga is also used as a therapy. This conference will focus more on the therapeutic aspects of yoga that may not be as readily available as the physical yoga workouts are. There are wonderful online resources available to support every individual in all aspects of yoga, and we’re really excited about sharing these resources with as many people as possible.”
YogaHub’s vision is to share this ground-breaking yoga conference on a national and international level. Over 35 world-class yoga teachers, wellness thought-leaders, and mind/body experts will participate in this three-day conference. Once you’ve registered for the Virtual World Yoga Conference, you’ll be given special private phone and web access to more than 50 hours of high-quality, top-notch workshops focused on your physical, mental, and spiritual health and well-being.
With the power of the web and private conference phone lines that can accommodate many people from around the globe at the same time, you can participate in yoga online and connect with leaders in yoga and mind/body science from the comfort of your living room or anywhere else you choose to be.
