The Chris Benoit murder-suicide case took another turn on Monday when the professional wrestler’s personal doctor was charged with improperly distributing painkillers and other drugs.
Dr. Phil Astin is facing a seven count indictment for dolling out drugs to Benoit from April 2004 through September 2005. Among the painkillers given to Benoit were Xanax, Lorcet, Vicoprofen and Percocet.
Astin is also being investigated for prescribing testosterone to Benoit.
It is believed that Chris Benoit killed his wife on Friday, June 22 and the killed his seven-year-old son the following day before hanging himself on Monday.
