Alex Rodriguez Pockets $200,000 for All-Star Game

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is set to add a few more bucks to his already healthy bank account after earning an All-Star bid and collecting the most votes in the American League balloting.

Just for making the roster of the Midsummer Classic Rodriguez picked up a bonus of $100,000 from the Yanks and he earned an additional $100,000 for easily totaling the most votes from fans.

The 31-year-old Rodriguez is leading the Major Leagues in homeruns with 28 and RBIs with 79 all while hitting .327 in the first half of the season.

A-Rod already has  abase salary of $27 million for the season and could add several figures to his salary by meeting certain benchmarks outlined in his contract.
