The Portland Trail Blazers signed their number one draft pick Greg Oden to a two year deal worth just over $8 million on Monday.
Shortly after signing the deal that will pay him $3.885 million next season and $4.176 million in his second season Oden began working out with the Trail Blazers summer league team.
Oden, who was taken with the overall number one selection in the 2007 NBA Draft, is expected to be a franchise center for the Trail Blazers who now have a lineup full of young stars. Oden joins LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy in a lineup that should easily surpass their 30 wins from the previous season.
The Trail Blazers also have team options for Oden’s third and fourth seasons.
Along with signing Oden, Portland inked draft picks Josh McRoberts and Taurean Green as well.
