While the Seattle SuperSonics landed Kevin Durant in the 2007 NBA Draft they are now facing life without superstar Rashard Lewis who intends to take his game to the Orlando Magic in a deal that could pay him close to $15 million a year for five years.
Sunday marked the first day of NBA free agency and Lewis was expected to get a lot of attention from teams drooling over his 6-10 frame that produced 22.4 points per game along with 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
In the end it was the prospect of playing alongside Dwight Howard in Orlando that sealed Lewis’ decision to play for the Magic. According to Rashard’s agent Tony Dutt, “He (Lewis) had a comfort and a gut feeling and he feels they have a championship core, and that's what he wants to do is win a championship.”
With Rashard Lewis coming into Orlando that could mean an early exit for Darko Milicic or Hedo Turkoglu who both have similar games to Rashard Lewis.
