The 24-year-old son of former vice president Al Gore was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of drug possession following a traffic incident in which he was pulled over for speeding.
Police clocked Al Gore III driving close to 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. When deputies approached the Dodge Prius in which Gore was traveling they smelled marijuana.
When they searched the vehicle they discovered less than an ounce of marijuana along with Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall. Gore did not have a prescription for any of the drugs.
This was the second time Al Gore’s youngest son has been arrested for possession of drugs. In 2003 he was busted for possession of pot while he was attending Harvard.
