Pharmaceutical, Healthcare Info and the Technology Market experienced significant gains in the first half of 2009 with an increase in the median enterprise value of 81 percent. This is a 5% percent increase from the value it previously was in 2008 at 76%.

The second half of the 2009 year showed gain in both volume and value with value increases up to 150% from approx. $2 billion to $5 billion. Volume also increased by approx. 15% from 86 to 99 deals.

For the full year 2009, The Pharmaceutical, Healthcare Information and Technology market exhibited unhelpful growth with declines in both aggregate value and aggregate volume of transactions. Total transaction volume declined by 12% from 209 deals in 2008 to 184 in 2009. Aggregate value declined by 16% from $9.43 billion in 2008 to $7.89 billion in 2009.
