After Kobe Bryant took an indirect shot at Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak for not putting more talented players on the floor the star guard has apologized for the manner in which the grievances were aired.
Bryant said he apologized to Kupchak in person, telling those gathered at a news conference “I just felt like as a man, it was important for me to tell him, ‘I'm sorry it came out that way.’”
The NBA’s reigning scoring champ said “I was frustrated, I was venting,” when he questioned the Lakers dedication to creating a championship team. During that same time Bryant grabbed headlines when he expressed a desire to be traded.
Despite his traded request the Lakers have said they have no intention of letting the superstar go and have continued to say they would look for the pieces that would return them to the NBA Finals.
While Bryant seemed to make an amends for his verbal assault in Kupchak he didn’t back off his desire to be traded saying, “What I say is what I say. We'll just have to see where it goes.”
