For the sixth time in her career Venus Williams will be playing in the Wimbledon final at the All England Club after easily handling the Serbian Ana Ivanovic 6-2, 6-4.
While usually displaying a dominate serve Williams finished the match without recording a single ace yet won 81 percent of her first serve offerings. The American also limited her mistakes as she totaled just 11 unforced errors compared to the 24 committed by Ivanovic.
Venus struggled in the early stages of Wimbledon but has since beaten the number two ranked Maria Sharipova, number five Svetlana Kuznetsova and now number six Ivanovic.
Williams will face either the number one ranked Justine Henin or Marion Bartoli in the Wimbledon final on Saturday. Venus is looking for her fourth Wimbledon title. She beat Lindsay Davenport in 2000 and then repeated in 2001 with a victory over Henin. She then dropped the 2002 and 2003 finals to her sister Serena Williams but took the title again in 2005 after beating Davenport once more. If Henin advances past Bartoli she would be playing in her third Wimbledon final.
