After leading police on a lengthy high-speed chase that topped 100 mph on a highway stretch in the resort town of Orange Beach, Alabama on Tuesday night the girl simply told police she was on her way to pick up her sister from a concert.
While Orange Beach police may be accustomed to tracking down speeding vehicles nothing prepared them for the identity of their most recent perpetrator.
At the wheel of the speeding vehicle was an 11-year-old girl who now faces a list of charges that include driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and speeding.
A police officer spotted the vehicle traveling at a high speed and when he flicked on his lights. The girl then sped up and the chase was on. The chase ended after the girl rolled her car.
Officers did not find any alcohol in the car but believe the girl had been drinking before taking a relatives car to pick up her sister.
