Detroit Pistons and Chauncey Billups Agree to Deal

After becoming an unrestricted free agent last month Chauncey Billups in an effort to test the market Chauncey Billups has reportedly agreed to remain in a Detroit Pistons uniform for another five years.

The deal is believed to be worth $60.5 million with the fifth year being a team option.

For the Detroit Pistons, signing Chauncey Billups was atop priority after they were bounced from the NBA playoffs in the Eastern Conference finals by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Billups averaged 17 points per game last season while dishing out 7.2 assists.

The 30-year-old point guard was named the NBA Finals MVP in 2004 when the Pistons upset the Los Angeles Lakers.
