2010 McDonald's All-American Game Selections Announced

The McDonald’s All-American Game, the nation’s most prestigious high school basketball all-star game, announced its 2010 selections Thursday on ESPNU.

 

The West team is led by UNC recruit Harrison Barnes, who is ranked No. 1 in the nation by ESPN, and Brandon Knight, Rivals.com’s top-ranked player. Both are unanimously considered the top player at their respective positions.

 

Fellow Findlay Prep (Henderson, NV) teammates Tristan Thompson (Texas) and Cory Joseph also headline the West squad, along with Doron Lamb, joins an extensive list of McDonald’s All-Americans from Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, VA). Lamb follows in the footsteps of Carmelo Anthony, Josh Smith, Ty Lawson, Brandon Jennings and Rajon Rondo.

 

The West frontcourt features Patric Young (Florida), Terrence Jones, Jereme Richmond (Illinois), Fab Melo (Syracuse) and Joshua Smith (UCLA). The backcourt consists of Keith Appling (Michigan State) and Ray McCallum.

 

The East is led by hometown favorite Jared Sullinger (Ohio State), who leads USA Today’s No. 1 high school team in Northland (Columbus, OH). Sullinger will play alongside fellow Buckeyes commit Deshaun Thomas.

 

In the backcourt, the East will feature Kyrie Irving (Duke) and Josh Selby, along with two sets of future teammates: Joe Jackson and Jelan Kendrick (Memphis), and Kendall Marshall and Reggie Bullock (North Carolina).

 

Tobias Harris (Tennessee) will also headline the frontcourt, along with C. J. Leslie, Jayvaughn Pinkston (Villanova) and Perry Jones III (Baylor).

 

The 2010 McDonald’s All-American Game will take place Wednesday, March 31 at the Value City Arena in Columbus, OH. The game will be featured live at 8pm on ESPN.
