Dan Patrick Leaving ESPN
After 18 years of near brilliance on ESPN Dan Patrick has announced he will be leaving the sports network in August.
Patrick revealed his decision on his radio show Monday stating “It's been home, but I think I was starting to take it for granted, and I did not want to do that, I did not think that was fair to these great people.”
The 51-year-old sports personality insisted that the decision to step down was not based on bad blood but rather just a feeling of it being time to move on. He has expressed an interest in continuing with radio shows but was uncertain about his future on television.
Three days prior to Patrick’s announcement on Monday rumors had circulated that ESPN was firing the long tenured host but those claims have been denied by both parties.
Patrick's last radio show is scheduled for Friday August 17.
