With poll numbers down and a dwindling bank account the campaign of John McCain had little room for error but now the Republican presidential candidate is in the depths of yet another crisis as his campaign manager and chief strategist are both gone from their positions.
McCain’s campaign manager Terry Nelson announced his resignation effective immediately on Tuesday while John Weaver opted to step down from his post as chief strategist as well. A source inside the McCain camp has said that Nelson was fired, a claim that could easily be believed judging by McCain’s recent struggles in securing contributions and favorable poll results.
It has been reported that Rick Davis, a long time aide to McCain, will take over the campaign.
