New cast member for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Actress Chyler Leigh is joining the cast of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as Meredith Grey’s half sister, Lexie Grey.

She appeared in the last two episodes of the third season and caused tension to build between McDreamy (Dr. Shepard) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) because of the instant chemistry between her and Dr. Shepard (Patrick Dempsey.)

Leigh joined ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ after Isaiah Washington was fired from the show on June 9. He was accused of making an anti-gay slur against fellow cast member T.R. Knight.

Filming of the fourth season of the hit medical drama began on Wednesday after a two month break.

Some of Leigh’s credits include “That 80’s Show,” “Reunion,” and “Not Another Teen Movie.”
