Former first lady Lady Bird Johnson died Wednesday at her home in Austin, Texas at 94. Lady Bird was the wife of the late Lyndon B. Johnson who served as president of the United States from 1963 to 1969.
Lady Bird and Johnson wed on 1934 and had two daughters. Four years after the Johnson’s left the White House Lyndon Johnson died. In 2002 Lady Bird suffered a stroke that affected her ability to speak.
Last month she stayed a week at the Seton Medical Center for a low-grade fever. She died around 5:18 p.m. EDT of natural causes. She was surrounded by family and friends when she passed away.
