Gouverneur Bancorp Names Charles C. Van Vleet as President, CEO and Director

Gouverneur Bancorp, Inc. (OTCBB: GOVB) and its subsidiary, Gouverneur Savings and Loan Association have elected Charles C. Van Vleet as its President and CEO. He succeeds the company's retiring President and CEO, Richard F. Bennett. Mr. Van Vleet was also selected to serve a 1 year term as a member of the Board of Directors during the Annual Meeting of Stockholders, held February 8, 2010.

He brings over 20 years of experience to this position. He joined the company as an Assistant VP in 1996 and in 2001 he was named VP with the Bank and the Company. He has served as Secretary to the Bank and Company since 1999. He previously held the position of Assistant VP with First National Bank of Northern New York.

 

The Company, which is headquartered in Gouverneur, New York, is the holding company for Gouverneur Savings and Loan Association. Founded in 1892, the Bank is a federally chartered savings and loan association offering a variety of banking products and services to individuals and businesses in its primary market area in southern St. Lawrence and northern Lewis and Jefferson Counties in New York State.
