BIRDIE OF PARADISE: GOLFING IN ARGENTINA
Buenos Aires, Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes
11 days
Why limit yourself to the golf courses of North America when South America has such stunningly beautiful (and relatively close) courses? This itinerary showcases both the golf courses and cultural highlights in Buenos Aires, Bariloche, and San Martin de los Andes. Begin in Buenos Aires, where four nights at the Park Hyatt allows ample time to explore the city and try golf at both the prestigious Buenos Aires Golf Club and the historic Jockey Club. Next, head to Bariloche, a beautifully scenic area of snow-capped mountains and sparkling lakes. Stay at the Llao Llao Hotel and play golf at their own course as well as the Arelauquen Golf Course. Finally, spend three nights in San Martin de los Andes in Andean Patagonia. Two full days at Chapelco Golf Course (designed by Jack Nicklaus) will exceed your expectations; if you want a break from the greens, however, you can go horseback riding, hiking, fly-fishing, or help out with a cattle roundup! However you choose to spend your time here, this final segment of your trip will be the perfect ending to a truly excellent adventure.
EAGLES & DRAGONS: GOLF IN CHINA & HONG KONG
Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong
14 days
In the past few years, enthusiasm for golfing among the Chinese has reached a fever pitch: new courses spring up each month and many of the country’s residents have become exceedingly fond of the sport. Visitors to the country who share a passion for golf will be pleased to find world-class conditions and excellent courses; this itinerary has been designed for golfing hobbyists who also welcome a few cultural outings when they’re not hitting the links. Start in Beijing, where you will take a city tour and a day trip to the Great Wall - and then spend a full day at the International Golf Club, where the scenic golf course runs alongside the Ming Tomb Reservoir and the Great Wall! From Beijing, fly to Hangzhou and the beautiful new Fuchun Resort for two nights. Nestled in the landscape of picturesque villages and tea plantations is the Fuchun Golf Course, where you will spend a full day avoiding the course’s challenging water hazards and bunkers. From Hangzhou, fly to Shenzhen for three exquisite days of golfing at the Mission Hills Resort; this is the world’s single largest golf club so three days may not even be enough! Finally, drive to Hong Kong for a city tour and one last day on the greens, this time at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club. Removed from the hectic bustle of the city, this course will provide a refreshingly tranquil way to conclude this golfing adventure in China and Hong Kong!
A HOLE IN ONE: GOLFING IN VIETNAM & CAMBODIA
Hanoi, Halong Bay, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Dalat, Saigon, Siem Reap
16 days
For some, a vacation just wouldn’t be the same without some time spent on the rolling grass of a golf course, so we created an itinerary to satisfy the hobbyist who wants to spend some time on the golf course without sacrificing the cultural sights of a private luxury tour. Start in Hanoi, where a day of golf will be arranged at Chi Linh Star Golf & Country Club and, on the other days, you will tour Hanoi and Halong Bay. From Nha Trang, continue to Dalat, known for its cool mountain climate, small lakes, and pine-covered hills. In Saigon, tour the city and golf at the Vietnam Golf & Country Club, Vietnam’s first 36-hole course. The trip concludes in Cambodia’s Siem Reap, where you will tour the magnificent Angkor ruins and spend a day playing the links at the Phokeethra Country Club.
TEE TIME: GOLFING IN NEW ZEALAND
Auckland, Bay of Islands, Wellington, Milford Sound, Queenstown, Christchurch
12 days
With its dramatic landscape of craggy cliffs, rolling green hills, and sparkling blue lakes, New Zealand is naturally suited to the game of golf. Indeed, New Zealand has capitalized on these golf-friendly conditions by creating some of the best courses in the world – all of which we, of course, have included in this program! Start with two nights in Auckland: one day of touring and one full day of golf at the Formosa Golf Club. Head next to the ultra-luxurious Kauri Cliffs, where the golf course is part of the resort. There is plenty to do at Kauri Cliffs in addition to golfing, too – you can also swim, hike, and enjoy the magnificent view of Cape Brett! Next, head to Wellington for two nights at the Greenmantle Estate and golf at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club, home of the 2002 New Zealand Open. Queenstown in the next stop, and golf at the Millbrook Golf Resort will not disappoint: the rolling greens of the course are dramatically set against the towering Remarkables Mountains. In addition to golfing, you’ll have a helicopter tour of Milford Sound, a must-see for every New Zealand visitor. The trip concludes in Christchurch, a picturesque city brimming with galleries, shops, and museums. Enjoy a day at the Clearwater Golf Club and spend a day seeing the sights in Christchurch, considered the most English city outside of England.
