Afternoon Market Update

Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

U.S. stocks fell lower in Friday afternoon trading while the dollar strengthened.  Earlier in the day, technology shares were ahead pushing the market upward despite China’s announcement that they will tighten credit.

After the intial gains though, the market felt the international news heavily and the three major stock indexes experienced hard losses.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 93.87 points to 10,050.32 while the S&P 500 Index slipped 7.95 points to 1,070.52. The tech-laden Nasdaq Composite Index fell after a bright morning losing 4.63 points to 2,172.78.
