Auto sales in Thailand have dropped 4.2% in June year-on-year. There are a myriad of reasons for the slump in sales. Energy costs and gasoline prices have gone up. The Thai economy has slowed. Insurgency by the Muslims in the south have kept individuals from buying.
To try to stimulate consumer spending, the central bank has cut interest rate to 3.5% in May. But in June, consumer confidence hit a 5-year low.
