Miss New Jersey Can Keep Her Crown

Pageant officials ruled that Miss New Jersey Amy Polumbo can keep her title despite pictures of the beauty queen in unflattering poses.

Polumbo went public with the photos after she alleged that somebody had been trying to blackmail her in hopes she would resign her position. The 22-year-old appeared on NBC’s “Today” show on Thursday and shared pictures presenting her “not in a ladylike manner.”

Among the photos shown on the morning show was a picture of her boyfriend jokingly biting her breast through her shirt, a picture of her in a limousine with her legs spread, and a Halloween photo where she held two pumpkins to her chest. Polumbo explained “It's not in a ladylike manner. I'm not a robot. I'm a human being.”

While pageant officials agreed that the photos may not have been in the best taste, they certainly didn’t feel they warranted stripping the Miss New Jersey title from Polumbo.

After meeting with officials on Thursday and hearing the news Polumbo said “I'm very happy about this decision, and I look forward to resuming my agenda as Miss New Jersey.”
