Paris Hilton jail time being investigated

Paris Hilton served time in a Los Angeles prison after she was convicted of violating probation. The jail was accused of giving the hotel heiress special treatment during her stay.

Allegations included Hilton being given a new jail uniform rather than a used one which is given to other inmates and access to a cordless phone instead of waiting with other inmates to use a pay phone. Accusations that her mail was delivered by a captain instead of an inmate trustee are also being investigated. 

Investigation of the allegations has begun after members of the Association for the Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs brought attention to the issue.

“We’re going to investigate it and get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what happened,” said sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.
