Sheriff says Hilton jail investigation is a waste of time

Sheriff Lee Baca says that the investigation the special treatment of Paris Hilton in jail is a waste of money.

Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail after she was convicted of driving with a suspended license following a DUI case. The socialite was released from jail after only serving three day because of alleged mental health problems.

The 26-year-old was called back to court and the judge sent her back jail to complete her sentence. Baca was held in contempt of court for releasing Hilton and was accused of giving special treatment to Hilton.

The Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs is investigating allegations of Hilton receiving special treatment. Some of the allegations include Hilton being able to use a cordless phone instead of waiting in line to use the phone like all other inmates and Hilton receiving a new uniform when all other inmates are given used ones.

Baca confirms the allegations that Hilton was given a new uniform but says there is a legitimate reason. “I was told that Ms. Hilton wears a size three and we don’t have size three’s in the jail, so there had to be some accommodation for her, otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to wear what we have.”

“It’s wasting taxpayers’ dollars on something really trivial,” Baca says.
