Harry Potter Casts Spell Over Box-Office, Grabs Top Spot

It was a triumphant return to the box-office top spot for Harry Potter as the boy wizard and his cohorts raked in $77.4 million over the weekend in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”

While Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Emma Thompson and Rupert Grint pulled in the top dollars, “Transformers” was relegated to second after a $36 million weekend haul. After two weekends the 1980s inspired action movie has totaled $223 million.
