Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko Vows to Challenge Results of Presidential Election

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has vowed to challenge the results of the country’s recent presidential elections, claiming the victory by Viktor Yanukovych was achieved by ballot rigging.

In a live television broadcast Tymoshenko was defiant, declaring “want to clearly state: Yanukovych is not our president.” She went on to say “Whatever happens in future, he will never become the legitimately elected president of Ukraine.”

Tymoshenko’s challenge comes despite the election receiving a clean bill of health by international election observers who have recognized the 3.48% margin of victory by Yanukovych.

Yanukovych has called on Tymoshenko to abandon her protests and resign from her position as prime minister.
